When is PNG the right choice?

PNG keeps every pixel exactly as it is — no generational quality loss when an image is edited, re-saved or forwarded again and again. It is the standard for logos, screenshots, graphics with text, and any image that a platform or design tool requires in PNG form.

The trade-off is size: photographs usually become larger in PNG. If your goal is a smaller file rather than a lossless one, the image compressor or the PNG to JPG converter is the better fit.

FAQ

Will the PNG be bigger than my JPG?

For photographs, usually yes — PNG stores everything losslessly. For screenshots, logos and flat graphics the difference is small, and PNG is often the more robust format.

Does converting improve the quality?

No converter can add detail that is not there. Converting to PNG preserves the current quality exactly and stops any further JPG-style degradation from future re-saves.

Can I convert other formats too?

Yes — the tool accepts any image your browser can open (JPG, WebP, BMP, GIF). Output is always PNG. For WebP specifically there is also a dedicated WebP converter.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server, and closing the tab wipes the files from memory.
