Frequently asked questions
Is Imgsin really free?
Yes. Every tool on imgsin.xyz is free with no signup, no watermarks and no limits on how many images you process.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Imgsin tools are written in JavaScript and run entirely inside your browser. When you pick a file, it is read straight from your device's memory — nothing is sent over the internet, and closing the tab erases everything.
Which image formats are supported?
You can open JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and SVG files. Output formats depend on the tool: the converters produce PNG or JPG, the compressor can also produce WebP, and the Base64 tool works with any format.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Every tool is mobile-friendly and works in Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android, including drag-and-drop replaced by tapping to pick a photo from your gallery.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no server, so the only limit is your device's memory. Photos up to tens of megabytes process fine on most computers and phones; very large images may be slower on older phones.
