  2. Draw the crop selectionDrag on the photo to select the area to keep. Drag inside to move it, use the corner handles to resize, or click a ratio button for a perfect square or widescreen shape.
  3. Crop & downloadHit the button — the cropped area is cut out at full original resolution, ready to download.

Why crop images?

Cropping changes what a photo is about: cut a wide group shot down to one person, turn a landscape photo into a square for a profile picture, or trim empty edges off a screenshot. Because cropping only keeps the pixels you select, the result stays just as sharp as the original.

Square 1:1 crops are the standard for avatars and Instagram, 16:9 suits thumbnails and banners, and 4:3 still fits many print and presentation layouts. If you need to change pixel dimensions without changing framing, use the image resizer instead.

FAQ

How do I crop a profile picture to a square?

Click the “1:1” button, drag the selection over the face or subject, adjust it, then crop. The output is a perfect square at full resolution.

Does cropping reduce quality?

No — the kept area keeps its original pixels at original resolution. The image simply gets smaller in dimensions because you removed parts of it.

Can I use this on a phone or tablet?

Yes. The selection is touch-friendly: drag with a finger to draw or move it, and use the corner handles to resize. Everything else works the same.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The cropping runs entirely in your browser — no server ever sees your photo, and closing the tab erases it.
